Hey guys,
Just a brief word with you guys on some things that are happening with a few kids. I’m really seeing some awesome improvement from everybody. As the season draws closer, I can see each of you start to gain a laser focus on your work ethic.

I was with the High Point girls last night, and they really picked up on a few difficult drills that I put into play. They are working hard and have a good season ahead of them.

A young freshman over at Sparta, Peter, had improved as much as anyone I’ve ever worked with in a 2 month period of time. Here’s why… He’s taking every drill that we do on a weekly basis and working on them at home. Every single day, he is doing the drills that will improve his game. I see improvement from him each week based on that work (by the way, this is in addition to being in high school for the first time and handling that workload, as well as running cross country). Great stuff Peter.

Ryan (who I mentioned a while back), is also taking his game to another level. Even his smiles are more frequent haha nice Ryan!!! His game is literally unrecognizable from when we started (that’s the idea baby).

So what are you doing? Are you working as hard as these guys and girls? Or are you hanging back playing video games while these players fly right by you with their work ethic and passion? That’s a question that only you can answer. In the game of basketball, especially at the level you’re at, work ethic and determination presides over EVERYTHING else. For many of you younger kids, tryouts may have already happened and practice is right around the corner. For you high schoolers, your season starts one month from today.

One month.

You want to make the team next month? You have one month to work your butt off to make sure it happens. You want to get more playing time this year? You have one month. You want to start this year? You have one month. You want to be a better all around player and lead your team to greater heights? You have one month.

One month. Not a lot of time, but more than enough if you work your butt off and focus on your goal.

One month, go get it.
