Deeply thankful and grateful for all that volunteered for our day of service on Christmas Eve (and for those that donated monetarily). We We were able to help out three families in need.
The first was in Vernon. This poor woman lost her husband two weeks ago and has children that are 6 and 2. We helped her clean up her yard in preparation for the winter.
Next was in Lafayette. We helped a family with two handicapped daughters transfer a very large woodpile to make room for a handicapped bathroom for their precious children.
Lastly we helped a widow in Sparta cut and transfer wood so she’s ready to heat her home for winter.
It was deeply gratifying for me personally to watch kids build bonds with each off the court. Extra special was watching parents connect with their children for a greater cause.
My hope is to make this a yearly tradition. But let’s not wait until next year to serve selflessly. There are people in need all around us. Just have to keep those eyes open.
Happy Holidays everyone.
Special thanks to Joey the magician for the video.
