Ok guys, I hope you enjoyed the first video in the Matt and Zach series. If you didn’t see it yet, check out the post below this one and get up to speed before you watch this one. Ok here’s part 2. In this section of the workout, I’ve got the guys using a rip through move to get by the defender first. From there, I simulate a 2nd defender coming over to help, but the offensive player using a quick hesitation/stutter step move to explode by. We alternate between finishing at the basket and pull up jumpers. Once again, first one to make ten shots is the winner. With a quick free throw as rest, we go right to the opposite side and do the same thing, this time to 5. Any shooting drill or dribbling move that you work on, ALWAYS practice it going to both sides. So if you start off going left, next time go right. You have to become efficient going both ways, using both hands, in order to keep your defender off balance. Otherwise, your game would be predicatable and easy to defend. Big key to watch in this video is explosiveness after the hesitation, as well as stopping quickly on the jump shot. Body control is key. Practice this!
