A BT Basketball camp is a pretty good gig for a kid on a summer day.
It’s hot outside; better to be inside. And outside, away from the Sparta PAL building, young basketball players don’t have the tutelage of area basketball celebrities. Inside the PAL gym, they do.
This week, area youth basketball players are escaping the sweltering heat while getting a basketball education from Sussex County scoring king Matt Tobin, 1,200-point scorer Zach Frick and Frick’s ex-Sparta teammate Jake Melville, who will very soon be a Division I college football player and happens to be a basketball standout, too.
So in some ways, having Tobin, Frick and Melville around is better than if LeBron or Carmelo swung by.
